Roberto Tempo Mountain Path in the Alps

Roberto Tempo was not only a prominent scientist but also a passionate climber and mountaineering skier. He was Ski-Mountaineering National Instructor with the Italian Alpine Club (CAI).
He passed away on January 14, 2017 during a skying excursion at Pian del Nel, near the “Jervis Hut”, in the Gran Paradiso National Park.
To remember his great love for the mountains, the Ivrea and Cuorgné branches of the Italian Alpine Club, where for so many years he was ski-mountaineering instructor, together with his family and closest friends, decided to restore and dedicate to Roberto an ancient path, beginning in Pian del Nel and climbing to the “Leonesi Hut”, at an altitude of 2910 metres.
The “Roberto Tempo mountaineering path” is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
