WUDS Roberto Tempo

WORKSHOP “ROBERTO TEMPO” ON UNCERTAIN DYNAMICAL SYSTEM

The Workshop on Uncertain Dynamical Systems (WUDS) is an international event organized by the Technical Committee on Robust Control of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).

The workshop traditionally takes place the week before the IFAC World Congress, a flagship event of the IFAC witnessing the participation of about 3000 researchers working in the field of Automatic Control and coming from all over the world. The first Roberto Tempo WUDS was organized before the 2017 IFAC World Congress in Toulouse (July 9-14, 2017) and took place in the preceding week at Banyuls-sur-mer, a small city located in the south of France.

The goal of the WUDS workshop is to gather a selected number of internationally renowned researchers with a robust control background in an event characterized by a friendly atmosphere, where they can share their most recent cutting-edge research results on advanced and applied control topics.

The IFAC Committee decided to dedicate the WUDS to Roberto Tempo as “Roberto was an outstanding scientist in the area of robust control and promoted and supported the WUDS with his positive and encouraging attitude towards spreading and sharing scientific results. Among many other things, Roberto Tempo in 2015 was appointed Editor in Chief of “Automatica”, the flagship journal of the IFAC. In January 2017 the whole control community witnessed with astonishment the tragic and sudden passing away of Roberto Tempo. Overcome by grief for this abrupt loss, IFAC decided to dedicate the WUDS to the honor of Roberto Tempo.”
